Is a boxer the right dog for me?

A few things you should know before buying a boxer

The boxer is an amazing companion but he is not for everyone. Please take a few minutes to read over the following and answer a few questions:

Are you an outdoorsman? >Boxers do NOT tolerate extreme heat or extreme cold weather.<

Do you have an exercise plan? >Boxers are very intelligent and active dogs that need plenty of mental and physical exercise. Being a larger breed they aren't able to get the energy need being inside, so take into consideration that you must have time to walk your new puppy. Never forget a BORED boxer is a bad boxer!<

Are you looking for a guard dog? >Many boxers are abandoned because they are often sought to be a guard dog. Although they are very capable of protecting their family, the breed is NOT aggressive by nature and bad owners often CANNOT train them to be aggressive leading to them abandoned. If you are looking for protect and surveillance invest in a security system, NOT another living creature.<

Do you have kids? >If you have children the boxer is a great breed to have. As with any breed you must put forth the effort to train him, but the boxer is a great family dog.<

Do you mind having a 60-75 pound lap dog? >Boxers are very affectionate and need interaction from its family. They are NOT a dog that will be independent.<

Can you give unconditional love? >This is something that is a must for any breed. One of the most amazing things about a dog is that they are able of giving unconditional love mo matter what. So you must be willing to give the same back in return. Boxer can be very mischievious when left alone.<
